Today was a very different experience for the youth. We headed out early and took the local transportation to the Animal Market. Riding in a "combi" was a unique experience. Combi's are small mini-buses that seat around 9, but are never truly full until they've reached 15 or more, oh and a chicken or two.
We landed at the Animal Market and hiked upwards toward the selling area, passing a variety of pigs, cows, donkeys, sheep ... and all that goes with them. 😉
There is a small church that meets there, a ministry of Calvary Chapel Catan. We performed our "Clincher" Drama amongst the live stock and many people came near to watch (including a few stray pigs).
After 2 performances we toured the youth around and let them take in all the sights. There were baby piglets, bins full of ducklings, giant steers and herds of sheep ... and we can't forget to mention guinea pig. Though they were in the frying pans for lunch!
No worries, we ate lunch back at the bible college. 😊
We finished the day with hard work around the campus and an evening of fellowship. The ministry, the sights, the smells ...today was truly an experience the youth will never forget!
